The most effective method to improve the service life of generator sets is to establish good operation (maintenance) procedures. Firstly,the preparation includes installation of generator set, check the appearance and test its funtions. Secondly, remove foreign matter in the surface or surrounding environment of the generator unit and remove the surrounding environmental factors that may interfere with the operation of the generator set. Thirdly,the air inlet and vent of the diesel generator set must be kept unobstructed and keep the antifreeze liquid level normal. Forthly,keep air filter and heater working properly and the lubricant level within the specified range. In addition, the fuel valve is quite indispensable beacuse it switched on and the fuel is supplied to the engine. At the same time, battery cable is properly connected to the battery so that the battery starts the unit and maintains normal charge of the battery. Finally, we should cut off the device / circuit breaker of generator on the air switch before starting the unit after the start, check the load equipment ready for open / close to the generator on the air switch to load power generating units.
Regular maintenance of the generator can ensure that the machine can be used for a long time. Standardizing the use of the machine can improve its operation efficiency and keep it in good condition, thus prolonging its service life.
